If you've followed me, or know me personally, you know that my favorite place to be is in my garden! There is something so rewarding about growing the foods that you eat. While I'm far away from having anything close to a farm to table sustainable garden, I do grow several fruits and vegetables that make for great summer appetizers and side dishes! Today I'm sharing some of my favorite summer recipes based on items in my own garden!
IN MY GARDEN
In my garden I grow a variety of different vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers. I try to stick to simple and basic things that I know grow well in my area and that I can use throughout the summer. My basics include: cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, bell peppers, basil, rosemary, cilantro, oregano, parsley, thyme, chives, mint, carrots, lettuce, blueberries, and watermelon. Each year I add a few new items to try out! This year those are: banana peppers, beef steak tomatoes, strawberries, onions, and mini pumpkins.
EAT FROM THE GARDEN: SUMMER FAVORITES
I always set out to find recipes that will utilize the items I am growing in my garden! These are a few of my summer favorites I've found over the years!!
I hope you enjoy these recipes as much as I do! Let me know if you have any I should try!
