Autumn at the Arboretum

Every year, the Dallas Arboretum transforms into an Autumn wonderland featuring over 90,000 squash, pumpkins and gourds! It is truly one of the most spectacular sights, and is always at the top of my Fall to-do list! This year's theme is "Pumpkins, Squash, and Gourds, Oh My!" based on the beloved book and movie, The Wizard of Oz. Set among the amazing pumpkin houses, this year's display in Pumpkin Village includes several themed vignettes along the yellow brick road like "Autie Em's House," "Muchkinland," "Emerald Castle," and "Scarecrow's Garden." With most local school's closed for Columbus Day, also known as Fair Day here in Texas, we decided to take the girls to the arboretum to check out all of the wonderful displays!

Girl's Date: Lower Greenville

On the last day of school a group of teachers met for a happy hour to kick off summer! We decided to meet at a bar/restaurant less than 5 miles from my house in the super popular Lower Greenville neighborhood. So on our first official day of summer break, I decided to take a girl's only trip to explore Lower Greenville! Given that she's not even two yet, I knew that this would be a quick trip, so I chose two "adventures" for us: Steel City Pops and Trader Joe's!

AT&T Byron Nelson Golf Tournament

Once Spring Break comes and goes, I can count on two things: 1. A super slow April, and 2. An extremely busy May! When I sit down to fill out our family calendar for May, we never have a free weekend! Mother's Day and Memorial Day are holidays for everyone, but in our home, golf takes over our weekends in May with the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth and my favorite, the AT&T Byron Nelson at TPC Four Seasons Dallas in Las Colinas! For the past six years we've been attending the Byron Nelson golf tournament in Las Colinas, TX. This year will be a special year for the tournament as it is the last at TPC Four Seasons in Las Colinas! Always a good time, I'm looking back at my experience at the tournament over the past few years!!
