You might be slightly crazy if you decide to plan an elaborate birthday party for a two year old around a swimsuit, or you may just be Lauren Barger!
Y'all, sometimes you just stumble across something so cute that your mind just floods with visions of color pallets, fabrics, and decor. For me, this happened when I stumbled across a post on Instagram for the most adorable swimsuit for Stella from Smockingbird Children's Clothing!
I had been coming up with a list of ideas for her party for the past four months, but most of my favorite ideas I felt would be better suited for when she's older. I was struggling to come up with an idea that I could really get behind until I saw the suit! The adorable mix of seersucker, hot pink ric-rac, watermelon applique, and girly monogram sucked me in right away! I imediately had my pallet and theme, Two Sweet; a summer blue gingham /watercolor/ watermelon delight.
I immediately began searching out photos to create a mood board: blue gingham, summer watermelon, pink watercolor, white linens, and glass mason jars. The theme will feel southern summer with pops of the beautiful watermelon pink/red! I'm dying already!!
Her birthday is not until July, so I have some time to plan which is important since all of my parties are 98% DIY! I can't wait to share the process and projects with you over the next few months!! For now, I'll leave you with my mood board!!
Are you planning a summer birthday party? What theme are you going with?
